16/50.- Rio de Janeiro, Ipanema Beach

The places to be in the evenings are the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. By these beaches you find a broad boulevard, on one side the beach, and its souvenir stands; and on the other, the high buildings (hotels, restaurants and cafes). They have a bike lane, but late in the evening thousands of Cariocas and tourists flood the area.

The black and white sidewalks are one of the symbols of Rio. You can now find designs inspired by these sidewalks on T-shirts, postcards and beach wraps. By the way one of the most popular souvenirs from Rio are these beach wraps.
