Porto Seguro's population is warm and friendly, but as always when in Brazil there is a rule you should not forget: leaving your valuables (money, credit cards and passports) in your hotel safe box. This is especially important when going to the beach. Although robberies are not frequent, it is better to be overcautious, and avoid any bad experience in such a lovely town.
