34/37.- Ilheus, cathedral

The main attraction in Ilheus is its cathedral and the Jorge Amado Museum.

In this picture you can see a view of the Cathedral of Sao Sabastiao. Ilheus prosperity came mainly form its cocoa plantations. The area is still known as the Cocoa Coast.
