Belem, Vero Peso, open air market
If we keep walking north, we find the stands that sell handicrafts and souvenirs. Prices are negotiable, but not much. In this area we also find some popular stalls that serve fresh sea food and other snacks. This is a good place for those who want to try something off the beaten path. Be warned that the area may be dangerous at night, after locals have enjoyed the local liquor, the cachaça. We'd better come here only during the day. If we keep walking north, along the river bank, we will get to the Estaçao das Docas (or Docks Station).
