On the Praça do Relógio we can find some refurbished colonial buildings. You can see a detail of one of them here.

Belem is also the starting point for cruise ships that go up the Amazon as far as Manaus. In the city of Belem we find several travel agencies that sell Amazon tour tickets. The trip lasts 4 or 5 days. You can buy an air conditioned cabin ticket, recommended, or a hammock ticket (note that the hammocks themselves are not included on the price, You are supposed to bring your own).
