6/50.- Red Sea, snorkeling, coral
The Red Sea was created more than 30 million
years ago, when the Arab peninsula started to part
from Africa. Twenty million years ago, the Arab
peninsula which parted from Africa, started to move
to the North, and another break line was formed,
giving birth to the gulf of eilat. The
gulf of Suez is
shallower than the gulf of
eliat, the first one with a maximum depth of
85 meters, while the second one's depth varies from
100 to 1800 meters.
The temperatures of
the waters in the Red Sea are warm enough to
snorkel all year round, the coldest moth of the
year is january and the warmest months are July and
August.
