The last of the dynasties to rule Morocco was that of the Alouites,
from the 16th century through today, with Mohammed Vi.
In 1912 the French took control of Morocco. 50 years after,
the reign of the Alaouits would continue with Mohammed V. The
former king was the head of the resistance against the French.
In 1961 the king dies, and his son Hassan II, takes control
of the country. He became the political and religious leader
of Morocco. In 1999 the king passed away. His successor, Mohammed
VI started a political and economical reform of the country.
