20/50.- Luxor, Karnak Temple, khnum temple's, reliefs

Here you can see one of the reliefs that decorate the walls of the temple of khnum. The figure at the right is the god monthu, one of the three gods to whom this temples was dedicated. He was the Theban god of war. He is usually depicted with a falcon head and with a solar disc over his head. Soldiers used to ask for montu's blessings before any battle to protect the great ancient city of Thebes.
