35/43.- Aswan, West bank
Here we can see another view of the
nobles tombs in the Western bank. As you can see, lights
illuminate the tombs by night.
In the Sabni Tomb (nr 26) the
reliefs explain the story of one of the guardians of the South
frontier. Mekhu, a guardian, was killed in an expedition to
Africa. His son Sabni took revenge on the Nubian troops that
killed Mekhu. When he came with the body of his father to Aswan
he was welcomed as a hero by priests, royal ambassadors and
local people.
