14/36.- Abu Simbel, Abu Simbel Temple, Toth
To the South side of the Grand Hall are two
smaller rooms;
and to the North side four more. The purpose of these
rooms is not known. Some authors say they were used
during the Pharaoh Jubilee, other authors say the were
used to store the king's treasures.
The walls of these six rooms are decorated with
reliefs. On the following pages you will see three of
these reliefs. The one on the left depicts
god Toth.
Toth was the writing and the calculus god. He is usually
depicted weighing the heart of a human in presence of
other gods.
