
There are two ways to get to Vysehrad (Upper Castle), the first one is climbing the stairs from Rasinovo Nabrezi, the street in front of the river. The second one, is taking line C of Prague Metro and getting off at Vysehrad Station, from there its a 15 minutes walk. Vysehrad legend says the Castle has its origins in times of Princess Libuse, but in reality the Castle was built in the 10th century, and expanded in the following centuries. Thanks to its great location, above a cliff over the Vltava river, it was the seat of some princes. Given the importance of Vysehrad in Czechs national history, archeological restoration works are under work.
