3/25.- Bologna, Palazzo del Re Enzo

Menu

Walking along Via dell'Independenza we get to Piazza Nettuno, where the Palazzo del Re Enzo sits. This palace was built in the 13th century to house the Municipal Curia. It later became the Law Courts, and then the residence of the Podesta.

The name of the palace makes reference to King Enzo of Sardinia, captured by the Bolognese troops in the 13th century. The palazzo has been restored, and today houses a congress center.
