24/45.- Athens, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier

Menu

In front of the Parliament building is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The two guards, known as evzones, dressed in traditional 19th-century Greek uniforms, march solemnly back and forth, kicking their legs up high, clicking their heels, etc., in what is obviously a carefully choreographed routine. It's an interesting thing to see.
