Welcome to the 'Chateau' of Chambord!! This castle in the heart of the Loire Valley is one of the finest samples of the Renaissance architecture in France. It is a Royal castle because it used to be the retreat of some of the most powerful French kings, among them the King Sun --Louis XIV.
The construction of the castle lasted more than 30 years. The most famous architects of the beginning of the 16th century took part in its construction. Leonardo da Vinci himself took part in the design of some of the castle's decorations.
If you want to visit this marvelous castle you are at the right web site. On the following pages I will show you some of the castle's 440 rooms and its surrounding park --the biggest walled park in Europe, by the way.
