One of the specialties of Belgium is its strip cartoons. Perhaps because the country has several languages, pictorial humor has tended to thrive. Brussels sports several façades, like the one shown here, peopled with cartoon characters.
Belgium is the home of TINTIN, of GASTON LAGAFFE, of the SMURFS and of a host of other cartoon characters. The Brussels museum of the strip cartoon is interesting in its own right, but has moreover been accommodated in a beautiful Art Nouveau building, also by Horta.
