Brnos architecture has always been influenced by international artists, Italians in Gothic and Renaissance period, with names like Anton Pilgram (the author of Stefansdome in Vienna), Antonio and Pitro Gabri, and many others. In the Baroque period the French influenced Moric Grimm and Frantisek Anotnin. In the 19th century with artists like Ludwig Foerster, and Theophil Hansen and Heinrich Ferstel, who designed the ring around old Brno (they also designed Viennas ring). At the beginning of the 20th century there were some great Art Nouveau artists, like, Mies van der Rohe, B. Guchs, a: Weisner and D. Jurkovich.
