But the most impressive monuments in the enclosures are the Calvaries. The largest and most famous ones are Saint Thégonnec (shown here), Guimiliau (the richest), Pleyben (the highest) and Plougastel-Daoulas, built in 1602-1604 after the end of the 1598 plague. The Plougastel peninsula is famous for its sweet strawberries.
