If you want to taste the local cuisine don’t miss the many variations of the Bacalhau (dired Cod) offered in the local restaurants. Other local specialties are the "Papas de Sarrabulho" (pig’s blood with maize) and "Rojões de proco" (dumplings made of pork and maize).

This region’s wine are also famous. The "Vinho Verde" (a white or red wine, slightly acidulous) is ideal for accompanying local dishes.
