32/48.- Damascus, Orthodox Cathedral of St George

At the end of Straight Street, on the right hand side, is the Orthodox Cathedral of Saint George.

The church is dedicated to the Syriac Orthodox saint of Mar Girgis (St George), and it is another of the gems of the Christian Quarter in Old Damascus. In the picture you can see its rather austere interior.
