3/33.- Aleppo, Umayyad Mosque

One of the main tourist attractions in the old city of Aleppo is the Umayyad Mosque. Originally built in 700 AD, it was almost completely reconstructed three centuries later.

The entrance to the Great Mosque is free. Dressing code for visiting holy places in Syria is very conservative. Men should wear long pants and long sleeves. Women must cover their hair and wear long clothes.
