Another place where you can find good places to eat is at the shopping malls. The biggest of them all is Borneo 1, located in the outskirts of the city of KK. You can get there by taxi or by a free shuttle bus, in about 30 minutes from downtown.
In Borneo 1 you will find hundreds of fashion shops, mobile phone shops, souvenir stores, supermarkets, cinema theaters and a couple of hotels.
