Petra has four distinctive seasons: Summer, Fall, Winter and Spring. The wettest seasons are Winter and Fall, but rain is quite rare in the region. The hottest months are June, July and August, with temperatures ranging from 20º C to 33º C. Fall and Spring have moderate temperatures, from 10º C to 25º C. Winter (December, January and February) is the coldest season, from 0 to 15º C.
If you come during the hot season, bring some sun protection, sunglasses and plenty of water. In the park there is a restaurant where visitors can have a buffet lunch.
