In this picture you can see one of the Chinese fishing nets in detail. This traditional mechanism is used to fish in the rivers of Kerala. A net hangs from one pole, with a stone on the opposite side. Local fishermen drop the net into the water and rise it five or ten minutes later to catch fish. When they are not in use, they look like sculptures.
