Washington DC, the Washington Monument

The Washington Monument is another of the symbols of DC. This monument was dedicated to the father of the nation in 1885. There is a lift that will take you to the top, from where there are very nice views of Washington DC. You can get the free tickets from the National Park Service booth (on 15th Street).

Keep walking West from the obelisk, and you will get to the West Potomac Park, where the Korean War Veterans Memorial is.
