Royal palms are the accent points of all vistas in the Cuban countryside. The 'bohio' in the center is as natural to the land as the trees. Bohios are the most typical of all dwellings in rural districts. The frame is palm wood and the roof is made of woven and overlaid palm fronds. The architecture is pre-Columbian and may well be millennia old.
