Santa Cecilia is a beach that lies on the East Coast, opposite San Miguel (the main town in Cozumel).
A straight road links Santa Cecilia Beach through the center of the island with downtown Cozumel. A crossroad on this road will take you to Cozumel's main archeological site, the Maya ruins of San Gervasio. Temples in this area were dedicated to the Moon Goddess, Ixchel, linked to fertility.
