Popular markets always give visitors a view of how locals live. Unfortunately not many tourists come here.

In the picture you can see some of the ingredients of the Jamaica cuisine: the cassava, already used by the arawaks; the ackee fruit, brought from africa; the chocho, similar to squash; the callaboo, which tastes a little like spinach.

There is also plenty of tropical fruits ... Bananas, pineapples, coconuts and the less popular outside Jamaica: pawpaws, guineps and sweetsops.
