Here's a typical view in Cachoeira. The skirt is a traditional Bahian costume, made from cotton (lace work on the blouse and the hat). This is typical Sunday garb for going to Church. Now, if you go to Salvador, there are plenty of ladies in similar dress who ask you to take their photographs, for which you press a dollar in their hands. It's all unreal somehow. But here in Cachoeira, this woman appears so natural, walking in her formal dress.
