22/23.- Warsaw, The monument of king John III Sobieski

The last king of Poland decided to dedicate this monument to one of his predecessors.

King John III Sobieski was a famous warrior, who crushed the Ottoman army in a huge battle of Vienna in 1683. You can see him on the horse wearing a military uniform. If you’d look closely, under the hoofs of the horse, you’ll find a Turkish soldier.
