7/22.- Wallonia: Wepion

Wepion on the outskirts of Namur is famous for its strawberries, which are sold in stalls all along the road. The road along the Meuse valley is lined with restaurants, but also with villas where wealthy families would spend their week-ends and holidays before tourism and travel became popular and widespread activities. Wepion strawberries, grown according strict rules and in a limited area, are famous for their firm flesh, their deep red color and their characteristic taste.
