The scenic road winding its way up the Citadel offers many picturesque views over the older quarters of town with its characteristic dark slate roofs. From the hillside it is possibkle to look out over the town to the forests and meadows beyond. What was once a provincial town has now become an attractive, albeit small, center offering plenty of opportunity for shopping, cultural activities and other pastimes. The Namur province itself is a favorite destination for short holidays.
