Ares-Tower
Nice building,
isnt it? this skyscraper is the "Ares-Tower", a bureau-building.
Lets learn something else about this city's history. In
1918 the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy collapses and the Republic of Austria
is founded. In 1934 a civil war between the conservatives and social
democrats takes place. And in 1938 the Nazi troops invade Austria.
During the Nazi occupation more than 100,000 Austrians were killed
in the concentration camps, and many others were forced to flee. On
April 27th 1945, Austrias independence is re-established. Vienna
was divided in four administration sectors: American, British, French
and Russian.
The UNO city (where
we are right now) sits on an Island in the Danube river,
well now take the U-Bahn again and go to the other
side of the river, from where well take a look at
this island ...
