7/43.- Vienna, Secession

The Secession is an art association born in 1897, when a number of Viennese artists not happy with the "Künstlerhaus" (Vienna’s official art establishment) founded a new association. They considered the traditional artists’ association too conservative. In 1898 J. M Olbrich constructed the building you can see here, where some of the works of those artists are displayed.
