3/30.- Chateau of Versailles, the Chapel Royal

One of the first rooms you see once inside the Chateau is the Chapel Royal, just in front of the ticket office. This Chapel was consecrated to Saint Louis --Louis IX of France.

This chapel was built at the beginning of the 18th century, Gothic and Baroque elements were used in its construction. Its precious marble floor and the painted ceiling make of this chapel one of the most beautiful rooms in the palace. The chapel was used for the monarchs' daily mass.
