29/50.- Ihlara valley, Cappadocia

Walking Ihlara valley is actually a 7 km hike by the river in the deep Ihlara Gorge. The Melendiz River divides this valley into two canyons and its total length is 14 km. The churches carved out of the rocks by the early Christians are dated from the seventh to eleventh centuries and are decorated with frescoes in bright colors. After the walk we stop at Belisirma restaurant by the river to have a lunch of fresh water trout.
