22/50.- Gore Greek city

After a stop at a saraphane, a local winery, Kocabag, we pass by this abandoned Greek city pictured here. There are many abandoned Greek cities. These are Christian cities that were inhabited in Cappadocia since the 1st century AD. Although a Muslim country, Turkey allowed Christians to worship in their faith. In 1924 under a Greek Turkish agreement on immigration exchange, all Greek Christians left the country.
