10/50.- Didyma, Medusa head

The giant Medusa head at Didyma was originally part of a frieze on the architrave possibly sculpted in the 2nd century AD. Most of the statues and sphinxes of the Didymaion are to be displayed in museums in Turkey and in the British Museum. After visiting the site of Didyma in Yenikoy we had lunch in a nearby restaurant, and then started our ride back to Izmir.
