3.- Tossa de Mar, town walls

In this picture you see the main gate and the Entrance Tower. This tower was also known as the Hours Tower, because of the huge clock that used to hang on its walls.

This is the main entry point of the old town. The gate used to have two doors. In case of attack, the space between the doors was filled with sand bags, making the entry to the town almost impossible.

The courtyard you see was the arms square. As you can imagine, there had to be a real threat for the locals to build such a fortress.

Walking up the stairs on the left will take you to the top of the walls. There is a nice view of the bay from there.
