19/19.- Toledo, El Alcazar

From here you can see the Cathedral (left) and El Alcazar (right).

The Alcazar (fortress) is Toledo’s most formidable landmark. The building was rebuilt several times by Visigoths, Muslims and Christians. It was almost reduced to rubble in the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) when the Fascists troops resisted in the basement refugee the Republican bombardments.
