27/43.- Tarragona, Rambla Nova bench

In the second century Tarragona underwent a prosperous and expansion period. The city used to have more than 30,000 inhabitants. The Roman city was busy, noisy and full of life and activities. Trajanus ruled the Roman Emprie during this period. He was a very talented politician, but not very cult. One of his generals, Lucius Licini Sura, used to write his correspondence and his speeches. Lucius Licini Sura was born in Tarragona and he was a rich and powerful man. Thanks to him a triumph Arch was raised in the Via Augusta in the Tarragona area, the "Arc de Barà".
