The most picturesque corner of Sète, though somewhat off the tourist track, is the Pointe Courte, a small plot of land that protrudes into the Bassin de Thau. This is where the Sète fishermen have their homes and their fishing sheds. Much of their gear and tackle is left to dry on poles along the lakeside.
