When you visit San Sebastian, you should not miss its tapas restaurants either. Eating tapas, called Pintxos here, is a way of living in the Basque Country.

In Tapas bars you find the cold and the hot pintxos. Cold pintxos are on trays on the bar, ready to be taken. The hot ones have to be ordered. Locals accompany the tapas with a beer or a glass of wine. Usually when you "go tapas", you have one or two in one bar and move to the next. Before leaving the bar, you tell the waiter how many pintxos you had, and pay accordingly. You will find the tapas bars in the Old Town.
