31/50.- Detail of a carved Maramures gate

In Maramures there is a tradition of inscribing the name of the owner and the date of the gate building on the upper threshold of the gate. And sometimes even the name of the artisan was engraved in a hidden place. One can also recognize the twisted rope motif here.
