37/43.- Prague, Betlémská Kaple

Bethlehem Chapel is in Bethlehem Square. It is a Gothic Chapel built from 1391 to 1394. In this church Master Jan Hus preached his sermons in front of up to 3,000 followers. Other Hussite preachers worked in the chapel. The building was demolished in 1786, when the Jesuit order that owned it was dissolved. In 1950’s the Church was reconstructed following its original form. The house where Jan Hus lived was also reconstructed.
