11/43.- Prague,
Národni Muzeum
'Národni Muzeum' (the National Museum) is located in the
'Nové Mesto' (New Town), in Mustek (center of Prague).
Mustek means bridge, the name comes from the middle age, when a bridge
crossed the moat of the Old Towns walls here. The National Museum
dominates the 'Václavské Námestí' (Wenceslas
Square), a 750 meter long boulevard (at our back).
In this neo-Renaissance building constructed in 1885-1890 theres
an interesting Czech history museum. The statue in front of the Museum
is the St Wenceslas Memorial (from 1912).
Well now cross the 'Václavské Námestí',
and visit the 'Novomestská radnice'.
