15/36.- Porto, "Palácio de Cristal"

I like this Sports Palace very much. It is a great design!

Did you know that the citizens of Porto are called "Tripeiros" --literally, tripe eaters? That term comes from 1415 when the Porto troops conquered Ceuta. The inhabitants of Porto gave all their meat to the expeditionary forces, and kept for them selves only the tripes. Nowadays you can taste a traditional dish that recalls that event: the "tripas à moda do Porto".
