5/36.- Porto, "Igreja dos Grilos"

The "Igreja dos Grilos", which sits close to the Cathedral, was constructed in the 16th century (1570) .

The name of Porto comes from the Roman name "Portus Calae". The name of the country, Portugal, comes from that term too. The city was conquered by the Arabs in 716. Who ruled the city till Alfonso I of Asturias' invasion.
