Paris, Pont Neuf
The 'Pont Neuf' (New Bridge, in English) is actually the oldest
bridge in Paris. The bridge has two sections. The short one links
the Latin Quarter with the 'Ille de la Cite' -- the one in the picture.
A longer section links the 'Ille de la Cite' with the Seine river's
North bank. At the very begining, this bridge hosted some houses,
just like London Bridge. At a time, it was even used as a hospital,
untill it completely collapsed ... The bridge was rebuilt, but since
then it was forbidden to build any home on bridges.
The bridge is even more famous since the world success of the
"Les Amants du Pont-Neuf" movie -- "The Lovers on the
Bridge", a wonderful movie from director Léos Carax that
starred the beautiful French actress Juliette Binoche.
