Time to say goodbye! But before we leave, we want to share two typically Dutch words with you: doei and gezellig! Doei is an informal expression that you can use when parting. It can be translated as “bye bye” or “see you”. You can use it in shops, with friends or colleagues. Gezellig cannot really be translated. It means everything from cozy to friendly, from comfortable to relaxing, and from enjoyable to convivial.
