12/29.- Milan, Leonardo Memorial
You can see here Leonardo da Vincis sculpture. Leonardo
is one of the biggest genius of all times. He was the personification
of the Renaissance: artist, scientific, inventor and writer. But what
brought us here is not this monument but the Teatro della Scala (which
sits at our back, sorry no photo). This is probably the most famous
opera theater in the world. Giuseppe Piermarini designed the theater,
which can hold up to 2,000 spectators, in 1776-1778. In la Scala you
can hear the worlds most famous divos and divas sing, and remember
the times when Maria Callas sang here. Next to the Scala sits the
'Museo della Scala', with an interesting collection of opera objects.
